System Engineer III - Server Operations
Server Operations SpecialistEnd to end responsibility for server operations, including OS, hardware, patching, firmware, bios, and service packs. Maintain and manage server hardware and software to ensure stability and availability 24X7X365. Ensure enterprise standards and security are maintained and enforced on hardware/software. Provide knowledge and troubleshooting expertise during incidents and problem management follow-up. Provide problem resolution/root cause analysis and advice on problem avoidance, institute changes or update to ensure stability. Provide consultation and direct technical support in life cycle planning, problem management, integration, and systems programming. Implement releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment. Ensure platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning. Duties may include capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance/administration, performance tuning and diagnostics.Skill-set Details: 3-5 years of IT experience supporting larger datacenter environments with an excess of 1,500 servers and wide geographical dispersion. Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCTP-EA, MCSE, MCSA) a plus. Windows 2012 - 2022, Microsoft infrastructure services: Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, SCOM/SCCM and server maintenance including patching of standalone and clustered servers.• Windows Server Clustering• Load Balancing Technologies (F5)• System Center Experienceo Config Manager (SCCM)o Operations Manager (SCOM)o Orchestrator• PowerShell or Scripting Experience• VMware experience is needed• Patch Management• Large Server Environments• Service Now experience is a plus• Strong Work Ethic• Strong Written/Verbal Communication• Change Management/ITIL Experience• D/R ExperienceAdditional information:• Is this position contract to hire? Long term contract• Does the team work in shifts? Night? Weekends? Any on call expectations? The team does not work in shifts, there will be after hours work and there is on an-call rotation. Will be extended based on performance.
