Commercial Litigation Associate AttorneyPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Litigation Associate to join our litigation team. The successful candidate will manage complex commercial and business disputes from inception through resolution, with particular emphasis on foreclosure and real estate litigation. This role requires strong analytical and advocacy skills, the ability to craft litigation strategy, and a commitment to delivering excellent client service while contributing to the firms growth.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a diverse docket of commercial litigation matters, including complex contract disputes, business litigation, and real estate and foreclosure cases.Develop case strategy and drive matters through all phases of litigationinitial intake, pleadings, discovery, motions practice, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.Draft and file pleadings, motions, briefs, settlement agreements, and other court documents with clear, persuasive legal writing.Conduct legal research and analysis on substantive and procedural issues using Westlaw/LEXIS and other resources to support case strategy.Lead fact investigation, including witness interviews, document review, e-discovery, and coordination with expert witnesses.Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials; present oral argument and examinations as needed.Communicate regularly with clients to provide case updates, develop litigation strategy, and manage expectations and budgets.Collaborate with partners and senior associates on complex matters and mentor junior associates and litigation staff to develop litigation skills.Participate in business development efforts, including drafting pitch materials, attending client meetings, and maintaining client relationships.Ensure compliance with court rules and firm processes, manage case budgets and billing, and maintain accurate matter files.QualificationsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Barred in NYNice to have: Barred in FL3+ years of substantive commercial litigation experience; experience handling complex commercial matters preferred.Nice to have: Demonstrated experience in foreclosure mattersProven track record drafting pleadings, dispositive motions, discovery responses, and appellate materials.Trial and hearing experience, or strong advocacy skills with the ability to present in court and before tribunals.Excellent legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills with attention to detail.Strong project and case management abilities, including managing discovery and e-discovery workflows and meeting deadlines.Effective client counseling and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Business development aptitude and a willingness to contribute to firm growth; prior experience cultivating client relationships a plus.Proficiency with legal research platforms (Westlaw, Lexis), e-discovery tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
