The Mechanical Engineer will support construction activities directly in the field, including coordination, inspections, and quality assurance oversight. This role requires close collaboration with contractors and stakeholders to ensure construction aligns with project requirements and operational needs.Limited local or regional travel may be required in support of project needs.BenefitsHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife Insurance401(k) Retirement Plan with matchingPaid Time OffPaid Federal HolidaysRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (required; no substitutions)Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not requiredOSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification (required)Minimum 5 years of experience supporting major construction projects in a construction management, inspection, program controls, or construction administration capacityExperience working in active construction environments performing inspections and coordinationStrong understanding of mechanical systems within construction projectsU.S. Citizenship required (for clearance eligibility)Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting federal or VA construction projectsExperience working in healthcare or other regulated environmentsFamiliarity with construction management tools and documentation workflowsKey ResponsibilitiesSupport construction activities through coordination with contractors and project stakeholdersPerform field inspections of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.) to ensure quality and complianceReview construction documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change ordersAssist with project scheduling, progress tracking, and reportingIdentify deficiencies and support QA/QC efforts throughout the project lifecycleParticipate in project meetings and provide technical inputEnsure compliance with safety standards, including OSHA requirementsFor immediate response, please email your resume to IanC@SteerBridge.com
