Job OpportunityCalifornia Premier Pain Clinics is looking for a part-time or full-time Medical Assistant to join our medical office. Must be willing to work weekends. The ideal candidate would travel between Santa Rosa and Sacramento. Prefer a Vallejo resident as this city is midpoint to both locations.Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work.Knowledge of medical office procedures including surgery procedures and practicesKnowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient careKnowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient careKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environmentSkill in maintaining records and recording test resultsSkill in developing and maintaining department quality assuranceSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the publicAbility to maintain quality control standards including, but not limited to confidentialityAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situationsAbility to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and proceduresAbility to communicate clearlyKnowledge of interrelationship of surgery department with laboratory and radiologyKnowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient informationSkill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipmentSkill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful mannerAbility to speak clearly and conciselyAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, coworkers and the publicResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care managementMay perform selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizationsPrepare patients for examination and treatmentTake patient vital signsPrepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and suppliesGive injections, apply splints and dressingsPrepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilizationAssist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicalsScreen telephone calls for referral to physician or providerRelay provider communications to patients by phone or mailProvide general information on departmental policies andIn the spirit of teamwork, employees are expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested.BenefitsWe provide competitive pay, excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and paid time off.QualificationsHigh school diploma / GED equivalent required.Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required.Blood draws
