Database Engineer
Overview
In this role you will design, implement and optimize high-volume data management systems for Peraton's Space & Intelligence Sector. You will work with a Production Operations team to deploy, maintain, and tune databases, enabling access to diverse data sources and scalable storage solutions. You will shape data architecture and indexing strategies to drive performance and reliability in mission-critical environments. This is a hands-on position at the intersection of data engineering and national security, offering meaningful impact and cross-team collaboration.

Key requirementsBachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience OR Master’s with 6+ years OR PhD with 3+ years (additional 4 years in lieu of degree)Experience with Postgres, SQL, and database performance tuningExperience installing application software in an operational environmentExperience with Agile, AWS, RDBMS, Elasticsearch, LinuxDoD IAT Level II certificationActive TS/SCI with ability to obtain a polyPostgresSQLdatabase performance tuningAgileAWSRDBMS
