Role Overview
eNGINE is hiring a Workday Developer with experience in HCM & Financial modules experience to support one of our downtown Pittsburgh based customers.
Phase 1 of the implementation—focused on HCM and timekeeping—is underway with a targeted go-live of October 2026. Phase 2 will introduce Workday Financials, scheduled from October 2026 through June 2027.
We are seeking a Workday Integration Consultant who can provide technical guidance and integration expertise throughout the implementation lifecycle. The engagement will begin on a part-time basis, offering strategic input and early-stage integration planning as the organization builds internal familiarity with the platform. As testing and integration development ramp up later in the summer, the role is expected to expand toward full-time hours.
This opportunity is ideal for a consultant or contractor who may be supporting other engagements simultaneously, particularly someone comfortable guiding teams through early-stage Workday integration strategy.
Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance on integration architecture during the ongoing Workday HCM implementation.
Build and configure integration solutions connecting Workday with external enterprise platforms.
Support the creation of data transformation logic and field-level mappings across HR and Finance systems.
Assist project teams during the upcoming end-to-end testing cycle, helping validate integration performance and data accuracy.
Analyze and resolve data transmission errors or failures occurring within development, testing, or production environments.
Prepare detailed technical artifacts including integration specifications, testing strategies, and system flow documentation.
Partner with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to translate functional needs into scalable integration designs.
Contribute expertise during implementation planning discussions as the organization expands from HCM into Financials.
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience developing integrations within the Workday ecosystem.
Hands-on experience working with Workday integration technologies such as Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and PECI.
Experience designing integration solutions involving REST or SOAP-based APIs.
Strong understanding of data transformation, system mapping, and enterprise integration patterns.
Proven ability to diagnose integration issues and guide teams toward resolution in both testing and production environments.
Experience supporting HR or Finance system integrations.
Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to interpret requirements and shape technical solutions.
Preferred Experience
Prior involvement in Workday implementation projects from early stages through go-live.
Exposure to integrations involving systems such as Payroll, Benefits, Identity Management, or ERP platforms.
Experience working within Agile delivery models.
Background supporting Workday implementations within higher education or complex enterprise environments.
