Cascade AIDS Project (CAP) is excited to announce that we are hiring a People & Culture Business Partner. The People & Culture Business Partner (PCBP) serves as a strategic partner and the primary People & Culture support for their assigned departments. The PCBP incorporates an Anti-Racism, Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion lens into skilled Human Resources practice. This position reports to the director of People & Culture and is part of CAPs Leadership Team.
This is a full-time, hybrid role providing support to Housing and Support Services and Prevention Teams in the Portland-Vancouver Metro area. The PCBP will be based out of CAPs Davis Street office in Portland, and travels regularly to CAPs Vancouver location and occasionally to CAPs Milwaukie, OR and Longview, WA locations.
CAP offers a generous benefits package including full medical and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with a 3% match, 16 days of paid vacation (to start), 12 days of paid health leave and 12 paid holidays. As a nonprofit employee, you may participate in federal and state student loan forgiveness programs.
Starting pay for this position is $80,000/year, which is equivalent to $38.47/hour.
Who You Are
An experienced Human Resources/People Operations practitioner with a solid, up to date knowledge of principles, legal requirements and best practices, especially in a unionized environment.
Experienced in leading or supporting A-JEDI initiatives in a professional setting
Youre committed to CAPs mission to promote well-being and advance equity by providing inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ+ people, people affected by HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care.
You have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
You're an employee relations expert, navigating complex situations with compassion, consistency, and tact.
Youre a proficient user of Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems.
A professional certification in human resources (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) and/or DEI (CDE, CDEI, CDI) is a plus, but is not required.
What Youll Do
You will support CAPs Housing and Support Services and Prevention Departments executive leadership, managers and employees, helping them navigate various issues such as employee engagement and performance, employee relations, policy interpretation, labor relations, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Youll serve as a leader in CAPs A-JEDI work, and youll use your expertise and experience in A-JEDI to fully integrate CAPs A-JEDI values into all aspects of people operations at CAP.
Youll use your understanding of your departments individual cultures to lead tailored engagement initiatives for a great employee experience.
Youll administer protected leave and the ADA interactive process to support a diverse group of employees who often part of the communities CAP serves.
Youll be the primary connection between your departments and CAPs People & Culture function to develop and implement human resources policies, procedures and best practices that meet specific department needs as well as broader organizational needs.
Youll be a subject matter expert in CAPs HRIS and learning management systems and will provide support, assistance, and training to your departments.
Youll support your departments compensation and benefits programs to ensure excellent employee experience, internal equity, market competitiveness, and compliance with legal requirements.
