Mechanic II

Job Summary: This position, under the direction of the Plant Ops Director and Mechanic III if applicable, performs installation, maintenance and repair on hospital equipment. Also, will be required to perform drywall repair, tape, texture, and painting inside and outside the hospital. Qualifications/Reporting:Required minimum education: High School graduate or equivalent required. Completion of approved/ accredited maintenance mechanic apprenticeship program or vocational/ technical training in the various trades (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and air conditioning, etc.) is preferred.Required experience: Minimum of three (3) or more years as a plant mechanic, stationary engineer, boiler operator or refrigeration mechanic and the ability to demonstrate advanced skills in the field of plant operations is required.Required skills (if applicable): Must be able to read and speak English and communicate effectively with department and Hospital personnel both orally and in writing. Must have Basic computer skills and be able to work effectively with plant computer software programs. The ability to work independently and as a team member is required. Must have the ability to operate equipment using standardized methods. Must be able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude; ability to meet deadlines while working under time constraints; and complying with OSHA regulations.Required license/certification: Must have a valid Texas Driver's license, clear driving record and proof of liability insurance. Current boiler operator's license as required by the state or applicable authorities having jurisdiction preferred.Job reports to (title of the position): Plant Ops Director and Mechanic III (if applicable)
