Security Technician

Security TechnicianAlterman Technologies (Special Systems Division) is seeking experienced Security Technicians to install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot electronic security systems on commercial and institutional projects. Qualified candidates will have experience with access control, intrusion detection, video surveillance, and structured cabling systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and system diagramsInstall cable pathways, supports, and structured cabling systems, including Category 6 and Category 6A cablingInstall, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling and associated hardwareMount, wire, configure, and troubleshoot access control devices, intrusion detection systems, CCTV cameras, and related equipmentPerform system testing, troubleshooting, and documentationMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentCollaborate with project teams to complete installations efficiently and on scheduleUtilize computer-based software and applications for documentation, programming, and reportingQualifications:10+ years of experience installing electronic security systemsCurrent Texas Electronic Access Control Device Installer LicenseExperience with access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systemsWorking knowledge of structured cabling and low-voltage installation practicesAbility to read construction drawings and wiring diagramsBasic computer proficiency for documentation and system configurationValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to travel throughout the Austin area as requiredExperience with one or more of the following platforms:GenetecOpen OptionsBoschSimilar enterprise security platformsPreferred Qualifications:Industry certifications such as CSSI, BICSI, OSHA 10/30, manufacturer certifications, or equivalent trainingBenefits:Competitive wage packageEmployer-paid health and welfare benefitsPaid Time Off (PTO)PTO accrual begins upon hireEmployees may earn up to 7 days annuallyWeekly pay via direct deposit401(k) retirement planOpportunities for training, advancement, and career growthAlterman Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
