Senior Network Engineer6+ Month Contract (w/ possibility of extension)Lawerence, MA (Hybrid)Our client is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join a global infrastructure team responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and support of enterprise networking solutions across a large-scale international environment. This individual will play a key role in maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable network services spanning corporate offices, retail locations, cloud platforms, and data centers.This is a hybrid opportunity based in the New England region, with regular presence expected at the Massachusetts office.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide advanced Tier II and Tier III support for complex network issues across enterprise, cloud, retail, and data center environments.Lead troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution of escalated network incidents.Design and deploy network infrastructure enhancements with a strong emphasis on security, segmentation, and access control.Administer and optimize firewalls, remote connectivity solutions, trust zones, and third-party network integrations.Partner with business and technology teams to gather requirements, evaluate application dependencies, and develop scalable networking solutions.Create and execute detailed implementation plans for infrastructure projects, upgrades, and technology rollouts.Develop technical designs, architecture documentation, network diagrams, and operational handoff materials.Ensure projects are delivered on schedule through effective planning, communication, and stakeholder management.Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to network architecture standards, best practices, and long-term roadmap initiatives.Mentor junior engineers and coordinate activities with vendors, service providers, and implementation partners.QualificationsBachelor's degree in a STEM-related field, relevant industry certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience.Professional networking certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, security-focused certifications, or cloud networking credentials are highly valued.7+ years of enterprise networking experience supporting large, globally distributed organizations.Proven experience leading the architecture and design of complex network environments.Strong background supporting LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, Internet, VPN, wireless, and data center networking technologies.Deep expertise with enterprise routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, VLANs, VRFs, and Spanning Tree.Experience with modern network architectures including VXLAN, MPLS, MP-BGP, and software-defined networking solutions.Solid understanding of cloud and hybrid infrastructure networking concepts.Hands-on experience with next-generation firewalls, remote access solutions, load balancing technologies, and network segmentation strategies.Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, or similar regulatory standards.Experience implementing or supporting Network Access Control (NAC) technologies is a plus.Technical EnvironmentThe ideal candidate will have experience with technologies such as:Cisco routing and switching platformsAruba wireless solutionsPalo Alto Networks firewallsF5 load balancing technologiesMeraki SD-WANTCP/IP networking and packet-level analysisEnterprise QoS implementationsSIP, SBC, and unified communications technologiesCloud security platforms including Prisma Access, Zscaler, and SASE-based architecturesProfessional SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to independently manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Strong project coordination and organizational skills.Customer-focused approach with an emphasis on service excellence.Comfortable participating in on-call rotations and supporting critical incidents when required.Preferred ExperienceNetworking experience within manufacturing, distribution, or warehouse environments.Exposure to network automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.Scripting or development experience using technologies such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar automation frameworks.
