AMD is seeking a Technical Marketing Engineer to join the Product, Software & Solutions (PSAS) Technical Marketing team. This is a highly technical, hands‑on role focused on x86‑based processing systems, customer enablement, and field engagement.This position operates at the intersection of system architecture, hardware, firmware, low‑level software, and customer engagement. The role is not traditional marketing; it requires deep technical expertise combined with strong communication skills to support internal teams, field engineering, and external customers.The ideal candidate brings strong x86 system‑level expertise, is comfortable working hands‑on with hardware and software, and excels at translating complex technical topics into clear, actionable content for customers and field teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine, develop, and demonstrate customer reference designs, demos, and example x86 platformsProvide technical support to customers deploying x86‑based systemsRun industry‑standard benchmarks and present results to customers, field engineering, and internal stakeholdersDevelop and execute tests to measure system‑level performance, including bandwidth and latency, across multiple workloadsBuild, configure, and test systems using LinuxDebug and resolve customer issues across industry‑standard protocols and interfaces including PCIe, USB, SATA, and EthernetWork hands‑on with AMD tools to support hardware design, system bring‑up, and low‑level software developmentDocument best design practices, application notes, and technical guidance for both internal stakeholders and external customersDevelop training and technical marketing materials for AMD field and customer‑facing teamsAct as a technical liaison between customers, field teams, and engineering to drive customer requirements back into EngineeringCollaborate with engineering, marketing, FAEs, and sales teams across multiple geographies to deliver timely, customer‑ready solutionsRequired QualificationsIn‑depth system‑level understanding of embedded and x86‑based processing systemsStrong expertise in x86 CPU architecture and system operationExperience with: Compilers and toolchainsOperating systems and hypervisorsDebuggersSystem requirements and performance behaviorSolid understanding of hardware design, including schematics and hardware analysisBoard bring‑up experience, including hands‑on hardware‑level debuggingExperience with Linux, BIOS, UEFI, and bootloadersWorking knowledge of industry‑standard interfaces and technologies: DDR4 / DDR5PCIe Gen3 / Gen4 / Gen5Ethernet (1G, 2.5G, 10G)Fully self‑sufficient in software development, including coding and debuggingStrong programming skills with Python, Perl, C/C++, and assemblyProven ability to write application notes, white papers, and customer‑facing technical documentationExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiencesStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, marketing, customers, FAEs, and sales teamsAbility to thrive in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative, multi‑geography environmentPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in technical marketing, systems engineering, or customer‑facing engineering rolesExperience supporting enterprise or embedded x86 platformsBackground working directly with customers or field engineering organizationsFamiliarity with performance analysis, benchmarking methodologies, and system optimizationThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.AMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
