Mechanic Helper

*Job Overview* Penn Enterprises Inc. Services is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic Helper/Backup Truck Driver. This position is on base at West Point Military Academy, so applicants must be able to receive access to a military base. This is a Monday – Friday, full time position, but hours may vary based on business needs. Experience working on Industrial Equipment, Electrical, Plumbing and General Mechanical Maintenance required. The Mechanic’s Helper will be responsible for helping with the repair and preventative maintenance of the laundry production equipment within the plant which may include the following: Assembles, tests and repairs motor-control devices, switch panels, transformers, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles Help Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. Plumbing: includes pneumatic, steam and water. Detect minor problems by performing basic diagnostic tests Clean and lubricate equipment or machinery Check the performance of machinery Test damaged machine parts to determine whether major repairs are needed with or without help from the Lead Mechanic Adjust equipment and reset or calibrate sensors and controls Must be able to be insured as an additional truck driver, under 26,000 GVW box truck for On-Post deliveries A clean driving record - a driving history record from NY Department of Motor Vehicles is required · Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push heavy laundry carts. · Must be able to speak and read English. · Must be able to pass pre-employment: DOT physical, drug test, background check and E-Verify (legally able to work in the USA) · PENN is an Equal opportunity employer. · Job Type: Full-time · Pay: From $27.46 per hour Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $27.46 per hour Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance On-the-job training Paid time off Tools provided Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday No weekends License/Certification: Driver's License (Required) Ability to Commute: West Point, NY 10996 (Required) Ability to Relocate: West Point, NY 10996: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
