Volunteer Position - Board of Directors

Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County Now Recruiting: Board of Directors  The Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County (CAC) is seeking experienced and mission‑driven leaders to join our Board of Directors. For more than 35 years, CAC has provided trauma‑informed, culturally responsive services to children and families affected by abuse and violence at no cost across 38 communities in the north and northwest suburbs of Cook County. Priority Application Deadline: May 31, 2026 About CAC Our mission is to empower children to overcome trauma from physical and sexual violence through empathetic collaboration and culturally sensitive services. Our vision is a community where every child can thrive in safety and well‑being.  Board Member Responsibilities Board members play a critical role in advancing CAC’s mission and ensuring organizational strength and sustainability. Responsibilities include: • Serving a 3‑year term • Attending 11 hybrid board meetings annually (locations rotate in northwest suburbs) • Fulfilling a $5,000 annual give/get commitment • Participating in strategic planning, policy development, and financial oversight • Preparing for and engaging fully in board deliberations • Attending CAC events and representing the organization in the community • Completing board self‑evaluations and ongoing governance development • Maintaining confidentiality and upholding CAC’s core values: inclusiveness, collaboration, empathy, integrity, and growth  Preferred Qualifications We welcome candidates with expertise in: Finance, Human Resources, Technology/Data, Marketing & Communications, Public Relations, Healthcare, or Sales.Bilingual Spanish/English candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must reside in or near one of the 38 communities served by CAC in North and Northwest Cook County.  How to Apply Apply by May 31, 2026: Questions: Contact Melanie Pignotti, Chief Executive Officer, at mpignotti@cachelps.org  The Children’s Advocacy Center is committed to building a board that reflects the diversity and strength of the communities we serve.
