Bus Driver (Non CDL)

Club Bus Driver BASIC JOB FUNCTION Club Bus Drivers help transport members from schools to the Club after school for schools that do not offer transportation. The Bus Driver ensures the highest level of safety to members in transportation. The Bus Driver works under the direction of the Unit Director. This role would be running multiple routes/trips Monday through Friday between the hours of 3:00-5:00 PM. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 2 or more years experience as a driver transporting people preferred. Youth experience preferred. Must be at least 22 years of age for insurance purposes and have a clean motor vehicle report and a valid driver’s license. This position will drive our minibus. CDL is preferred but not required. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: Must demonstrate high attention to safety. Demonstrates a high degree of initiative and self-direction. Demonstrates strong organizational and communication skills. Exhibits professionalism. Maintains excellent working relationships with staff, volunteers and public. Must be able to demonstrate ability to work with people from diverse racial/cultural/socioeconomic backgrounds. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Run transportation routes from school(s) to the Boys & Girls Club. Assist with tracking daily attendance of students in the Bus Log. Execute and document daily vehicle safety inspections. Ensure and maintain vehicle interior cleanliness. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Build positive relationships with youth, volunteers, parents, schools, and community. Encourage a positive environment for members to learn, interact, and grow. Report to the Unit Director. Assume other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to perform gross and fine motor activities required for typing, writing, simple manipulations such as telephone buttons, computer keyboards, fax machine buttons, etc. Ability to work in a professional environment and positively represent organization under various levels of stress. Visual acuity for accurate reading, typing, filing and use of computer screens. Hearing is needed for purposes of business-related phone communications, public broadcasts, answering incoming phone calls, etc. Ability to operate a safe mode of transportation for publicity functions/events, transportation of supplies, and meetings. Ability to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending. Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely. Exposure to a variety of weather conditions.
