Assistant Controller
Job Overview
We are a property management company focused on managing homeowners associations and condominiums associations. We are looking for an assistant controller to work directly with our Controller and our financial team on day to day accounting tasks and assist in long term financial organization for our properties.
Duties
Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Perform account reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation, to maintain accurate financial records.
Support the Controller in developing financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
Prepare billings and manage the processing of special assessment billings as needed.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support for decision-making to our associations board of directors.
Prepare monthly financial reports for management and board review.
Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Collaborate and assist in the preparation of 15- year practical reserve studies.
Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
Attend regular board meetings and annual meetings to present and explain association financial in detail while leading the annual meeting in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in a similar role within the accounting department is a plus but not necessary.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop, Adobe, Microsoft Office is highly desirable.
Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
