It's more than a jobAs a Contract Logistics Specialist at Kuehne+Nagel, you will manage end-to-end warehousing operations for our customers. By doing so with precision, you not only contribute to the success of your team, but also to the day-to-day operations and success in the warehouse and distribution centres. For example, storing and delivering delicate flowers and fresh ingredients to local stores for everyday lunches and family celebrations. At Kuehne+Nagel, our work truly contributes to more than we imagine.Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Contract Logistics Operations Team Lead manages receiving, storing, picking, packing, verification, shipping, and other designated tasks to ensure the distribution center functions efficiently. The Team Lead directs and trains employees to uphold safe, accurate, and effective procedures. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, providing guidance, conducting audits, resolving complex issues, and ensuring adherence to safety standards. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm.How you create impactDuties and Responsibilities:Utilize manual or powered material handling equipment to efficiently unload incoming materials from trailers as requiredConfirm and record materials into inventory by accurately scanning them into the designated computer systemConfirm that all necessary inbound and outbound paperwork is completed with drivers, verifying accurate product countsUtilize material handling equipment to efficiently transport and store materials within the warehouse. Scan materials when relocating them from the original location to the new designated areaVerify orders against the documented list, identify any shortages, and follow up to locate missing items or resolve incomplete ordersMaintain the accuracy of inventory records and provide support for physical inventory counts as instructedOversee and organize the efficient unloading of incoming shipmentsDemonstrates strong communication, multitasking, and organizational abilitiesOffers clear direction and support to team members by addressing inquiries related to any work-related mattersWhat we would like you to bringQualifications* A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is required* At least one year of experience in a leadership roleSkills and ExperienceMust demonstrate attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracyMust be a US citizenCapacity to effectively analyze and resolve challengesCapability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks independently with minimal oversightCapability to deliver training to less experienced material handlers and warehouse associatesAbility to perform tasks through computer operating systemsProficient in operating power-driven machineryCapability to lift weights up to 50 poundsMust be able to wear the required safety shoes while on dutyWhat's in it for youThere has never been a better time to work in logistics.
