Purchasing Manager
StimLabs is hiring a Purchasing Manager to join our Operations department. This person will execute activities necessary for the timely and strategic procurement of goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for the organization. The Purchasing Manager will report to our Director, Procurement & Planning.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement methods to gather and manage supply chain dataResearch and seek out the most cost-efficient shipment procedures and methodsReview and analyze gathered data to locate was areas in the supply chain process and develop methods to improveResearch partner companies and seek to negotiate best-price contracts to increase business revenuePlan and implement supply chain optimization projectsMaintain a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and valuesAssist in promoting a positive image and inter-business relationship with business partners and vendorsSeek to improve all aspects of the supply chain department by reviewing current methodology and processesPerforms other related duties as assigned by management, including back-up of other Supply Chain functions such as planning and inventory controlQualificationsBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceWork experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry highly preferredProficient (intermediate skill level) in Microsoft Excel and OutlookExperience analyzing and improving supply chain data, information and processesSupply Chain Management certification is not necessary though strongly preferredHigh-level understanding of all aspects of supply chain processesPrevious experience with ERP systems, especially Infor Syteline, strongly preferredExperience working in and maintaining databases using Microsoft Excel and others relevant to company processesProfessional communication skills are essential when conversing and negotiating with vendorsExceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenge and needs to be addressedAbility to research companies and determine the best vendors to reach out to for various projectsExperience working to improve all aspects of the supply chain by streamlining steps and locating the best prices for inventoryCompetenciesPlanning/Organizing – Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plansProfessionalism – Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments.
