As we evolve with new leadership and cutting‐edge tools, we're deepening our commitment to helping local restaurants thrive in the digital economy.ABOUT THE POSITION:As our Paralegal, you will be specifically responsible for research and document preparation for legal transactions and proceedings. You will also be dedicated to contract and internal process management. While partnering with various internal teams, you own the management of the expanding legal tool set, acting as a first level filter for legal issues, and providing legislation/compliance research and monitoring.Reports to the VP of Legal Affairs; no direct reports. You don't allow yourself to become complacent with where you're at and what you've done, so you seek out new opportunities and challenges.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Contract Lifecycle ManagementManage all contract requests via Ramp and IronClad—facilitate intake, maintain repository, and train stakeholdersCommunicate with stakeholders throughout the process; track key dates, expirations, and renewalsEnsure data quality, responsiveness, and generate reports as neededLegal Research & Document SupportResearch legal issues (e.g., data privacy, marketplace facilitator regulations) and summarize findings for attorney reviewManage and update contract templates; conduct first‐level review of modification requestsReview and process all NDAs (internal and external) for attorney sign‐offCompliance & RiskTrack SOPs, licenses, and permits; ensure timely company responses and renewalsEscalate any non‐compliant practices to appropriate stakeholdersAdministration & Cross‐Functional SupportServe as first filter for employee legal inquiries via Slack/email; elevate to attorney as neededAssist with policy research and creationDraft weekly 1:1 agendas and provide timely status updatesCoordinate meetings, assist with departmental agendas, and fulfill monthly privacy requestsWITHIN 30 DAYS YOU WILL:Progress through our Ramp Camp (ChowNow's New Hire Onboarding Experience)Meet with cross‐functional leaders and team members in the organization in order to establish relationships and understand needsBegin to review and assess existing legal documentation, tools and processAttend and participate in relevant meetings to help filter legal requestsWITHIN 60 DAYS YOU WILL:Own legal documentation, applicable tools and processesReview and monitor all relevant compliance documentationWITHIN 90 DAYS YOU WILL:Make substantial contributions to legal documentation and compliance monitoringProvide suggestions and guidance on legal process improvements leveraging data gathered from gaining visibility into the business needsDrive compliance program improvements, as neededYOU SHOULD APPLY IF:You have at least 2-3 years of experience as a paralegal (or equivalent role) either at a private practice law firm or in‐houseYou have experience with legal tech tools, like CLM and procurement (Experience with IronClad and Ramp is a plus)You have knowledge of legal principles and processesYou have experience with legal and compliance monitoringYou have drafting and reviewing skills (e.g. licenses, NDA's, etc.)You are a collaborative team player with great communication skills, and an empathetic approach.You have a data‐driven approach to process improvementYou have an ability to work independently and produce consistent high‐quality deliverables in a timely mannerYou are a dynamic, curious, organized and adaptable individual, with thirst for experimentation and continuous improvementABOUT OUR BENEFITS:Expected Hourly Rate: $37.00/hr - $49.00/hr (depending on candidate location and experience)Ongoing training and growth opportunities.A "Best Place to Work" winner multiple times where we focus on creating a great employee experience.Rock solid medical, dental, and vision plans.Mental Health Coverage - we offer several programs to support your mental health and wellness goals.Unlimited Paid Vacation.
