Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to lead a re-architecture project for our platform. This role is remote, with a preference for candidates in Latin America to ensure time zone alignment. The primary objective is to enhance platform resilience, mitigate operational and security risks, and establish a scalable architecture.ResponsibilitiesLead the re-architecture of the Ruby on Rails monolith, focusing on improving reliability and performance.Execute infrastructure improvements based on industry frameworks like AWS WAR.Implement AWS IAM Identity Center and automate the review of roles and permissions.Apply cloud guardrails and document procedures in runbooks.Support the development of new capabilities under a modern architecture.Implement layer segregation, including Frontend, Backend, and APIs.Design advanced cache strategies and apply resilience and contract testing practices.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth migration and minimal disruption.Provide technical leadership and hands-on development throughout the project.Required SkillsProven experience as a senior Ruby on Rails developer.Strong background in scaling applications and re-architecting monolithic systems.Experience with database technologies such as RDS Aurora.Ability to work independently and deliver results efficiently.Fluent in written and spoken English.Availability to overlap with US Central Time.Nice to HaveExperience with cloud operations and security operations (SecOps).Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and services.
