Construction Adjunct Instructor- Trinidad Campus
Construction Instructor Trinidad State College is seeking qualified applicants for a Construction Instructor position at the Trinidad Campus located in Trinidad, Colorado. This is an adjunct position that reports directly to the Dean of Instruction and Vice President of Academic Affairs. The hourly pay rate is per credit hour.Examples of Duties Instruct students in assigned courses in accordance with established curriculum and college proceduresUse effective teaching methods and technologies to meet the diverse learning styles of studentsMaintain and distribute current course syllabi using the accepted templateMaintain accurate recordsSubmit grades, schedule additions, course syllabi, and other reports or required documents by established deadlinesBe aware of and follow established policies of the State Board, CCCS, and the CollegeAssess learning outcomes, demonstrate the use of assessment results in course planning, report and maintain assessment records, and participate in assessment activitiesDevelop and revise curriculum to maintain the quality and relevancy of course offeringsNotify the Vice President of Academic Affairs if the faculty member is going to be absent from work. This notification should be made in a timely manner.Discuss with appropriate personnel any problems of students, which may require special attention and provide records as neededReview and select appropriate textbooks and maintain classroom supplies as needed for successful teaching of assigned classesIncorporate learning resources and technologies in courses whenever possibleEngage in professional development activities to maintain a current knowledge of subject matter and teaching methodologyMeet all classes as scheduledMaintain regularly scheduled office hoursAdhere to professional standards of conductOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications Associate of Applied Science in Construction or related field; required field experience per CCCS Administrator's Handbook guidelinesMust be able to teach Construction courses within the TSC CatalogFunctional knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteMust be agreeable to working with a diverse population and with all ranges of student abilitiesMust have a strong commitment and positive attitude toward Community College instructionSupplemental Information For consideration, an applicant must submit the following:A letter addressing the professional qualifications listed in the position descriptionA current resume or a current curriculum vitaeUnofficial Transcripts (of highest education attained)The names and telephone numbers of at least three (3) references from persons in a position to evaluate the applicant's expertise as it relates to the position requirementsAt TSC, we value and uphold a commitment to a workplace that focuses on employees.
