Engineering Manager

PSI-Polymer Systems is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a small team of approximately 3–4 engineers designing custom machinery and equipment for the plastics extrusion industry. This is a working manager position. The Engineering Manager will oversee engineering projects and provide direction to the engineering team while also actively participating in design work, troubleshooting, and project execution. Responsibilities * Lead and provide daily direction to a team of 3–4 engineers * Manage engineering workload, priorities, and project schedules * Actively participate in mechanical design and engineering projects * Review and approve drawings, designs, and project documentation * Design and develop custom machinery and mechanical systems * Work closely with Manufacturing and Sales to ensure equipment meets customer requirements * Provide technical support and troubleshoot design or equipment issues * Assist with continuous improvement and product development * Support and develop engineering team members Qualifications * Strong mechanical engineering and machine design experience * Previous engineering leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience * Experience designing custom machinery, industrial equipment, or similar mechanical systems * Proficiency with 3D CAD software; Autodesk Inventor experience preferred * Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, materials, and mechanical components * Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems, motors, sensors, controls, and electrical schematics * Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills * Comfortable managing engineers while remaining actively involved in engineering projects * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field preferred Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Regular overtime, nights, and weekends are not required.
