Certified Residential Medication Aide

Job SummaryThe Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) is responsible for the safe administration of medications to residents in accordance with state regulations, physician orders, and facility policies. This role supports residents’ health and well-being by ensuring accurate medication delivery while maintaining a supportive, respectful, and compliant care environment.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAdminister prescribed medications to residents as authorized and within scope of certificationVerify medication orders and resident identification prior to administrationAccurately document medication administration and report any errors or adverse reactions immediatelyObserve residents for side effects, changes in condition, or medication effectiveness and report concerns to nursing staffMaintain medication storage areas in compliance with safety and regulatory standardsAssist with medication counts, audits, and inventory controlFollow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies at all timesCommunicate effectively with residents, nursing staff, supervisors, and healthcare providersSupport residents with activities of daily living as needed, within role scopeParticipate in required training, in-services, and competency evaluationsAssist as needed.Compliance & Professional StandardsMust maintain current certification and meet all state and facility requirementsAdhere to all policies related to resident rights, confidentiality (HIPAA), and workplace safetyOrganizational ExpectationsProvides a positive and professional representation of CFG Health Systems, LLC.Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and preventionMaintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practiceAdheres to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulationsParticipate in ongoing quality improvement activitiesCompletes required orientation as directed by the facilityFollows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignmentFollows the facility and CFG Health Occurrence ProtocolUpholds HIPAA and PREA regulationsPunctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shiftsMaintains security clearance for the assigned facilityQualificationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentCurrent Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) certification in good standingAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishBasic understanding of medication administration principles and resident careAbility to follow written and verbal instructions accuratelyCPR and First Aid certificationExperience with electronic medication administration records (eMAR)Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required during shiftsAbility to assist residents with mobility as permitted by role and facility policyManual dexterity sufficient for medication administration and documentationPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
