Data Architect
Data ArchitectWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team in Reston/McLean, VA. This is a hybrid role, requiring presence in the office three days a week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, data management, and data integration to help design and implement scalable data solutions.Key Responsibilities:Data Architecture Design: Design, develop, and implement robust data architecture solutions that support the organization's strategic goals. Develop and maintain data models, schemas, metadata, data dictionaries, and other artifacts. Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise standards and best practices.Data Management and Governance: Establish and enforce data management and governance policies and standards. Ensure data quality, integrity, security, and privacy across the data lifecycle. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance frameworks and processes.Data Integration: Design and implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from multiple sources. Develop ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure seamless data flow and integration. Work with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and workflows.Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data architecture and management. Mentor and coach junior team members on best practices and technical skills.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, software engineers, and product managers, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively. Participate in project planning, status meetings, and provide regular updates on project progress.Client Facing: The person should be able to work with enterprise architect and is well versed with data migration architecture to cloud.Technical Chops: Relational DB, data pipelines work.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.7+ years of experience in data architecture, data management, and data integration.Overall 12+ years of experience.Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data warehousing concepts.Experience with data integration tools and technologies such as Informatica, Talend, or Apache Nifi.Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka is a plus.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Preferred Skills:Experience with data governance and data quality tools.Understanding of machine learning and data analytics.Certification in data management or data architecture (e.g., CDMP, TOGAF).
