We offer a generous benefits package which includes:County contributions to health insuranceCounty contributions to a retirement planPaid life insurancePaid short term disabilityPaid holidays and more!General Position SummaryThe Klamath County Sheriff's Office is looking for Deputies to staff both the Corrections Department and the Patrol Department.The Corrections Deputy maintains security, manages and supervises inmates in the Klamath County Jail.The Patrol Deputy enforces and prevents violations of state and local traffic, criminal and civil laws and ordinances in order to protect life and property and provide safety to the community served.Education, Certification, & ExperienceOregon Driver's LicenseHigh School Diploma or GED Certificate21 years of ageDepartment of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Basic Certification, which must be obtained within one year after employment. Must possess physical capabilities as demanded by DPSSTFirst Aid Certificate, required upon DPSST Certification and periodic renewal thereafterCPR Certification, required upon DPSST certification and periodic renewal thereafterAbility to be sworn as a Police Officer in accordance with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) 181.610-181.990Current or recent experience as a Police Officer, Corrections Officer, or Police Reserve Officer is desirable but not requiredSalary and Work Schedule Corrections Deputy - This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a starting wage range of $27.03 - $36.20 per hour, depending on experience.Patrol Deputy - This is an hourly, non-exempt position with a starting wage range of $27.84 - $37.32 per hour, depending on experience.The normal work schedule is 8.00 hours per day, 5 days a week; 10.00 hours a day, 4 days per week; or 12.00 hours per day, 3-4 days per week.
