Low Voltage Technician
Job Title: Low Voltage Technician Pay Rate: $22-28/hr Job Description The Low Voltage Technician installs, services, and maintains low voltage cabling and control systems on commercial projects. The first assignment focuses on a school remodel, with future opportunities to support new construction projects such as a new school build. This role involves hands-on installation of electronic, pneumatic, and Direct Digital Controls (DDC), as well as energy management and automation systems in commercial buildings. ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, and label low voltage cabling for commercial projects, including school remodels and new construction.Assist with the installation, repair, service, and maintenance of electronic, pneumatic, and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) systems.Install and support fire alarm and digital control systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.Perform conduit and cabling installation, ensuring neat, safe, and code-compliant routing and support.Support the installation and configuration of automation and energy management systems for commercial buildings.Work with web-enabled control systems that allow remote monitoring, alarms, and set point adjustments over the internet.Read and follow basic wiring concepts and instructions on the jobsite to complete installations correctly and safely.Use basic hand and power tools to complete general labor tasks related to low voltage and control system installations.Collaborate with team members on-site to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality expectations.Travel to designated project sites as needed, including potential travel to nearby locations, following company travel arrangements. Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of experience with low voltage cabling installation.Ability to understand wiring on a commercial jobsite, including basic interpretation of how systems are wired and interconnected.Experience with fire alarm systems and digital controls.Hands-on experience with low voltage installation tasks such as conduit work, cabling installation, and terminations.Ability to perform general labor duties related to low voltage and control systems installation.Familiarity with automation systems and energy management concepts in commercial environments.Capability to work safely on active construction sites and follow site-specific safety guidelines.Reliable attendance and ability to work the scheduled hours consistently. Additional Skills & QualificationsCommercial construction experience is a strong plus, but not strictly required for the right candidate.Experience working with electronic, pneumatic, or Direct Digital Controls (DDC) is highly beneficial.Experience supporting web-enabled control systems that allow remote monitoring and alarm notifications.Comfort using basic hand tools, power tools, and jobsite equipment for installation work.Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with field technicians and project teams.Willingness to travel between local project sites, including remodels and new construction projects. Work Environment This is a field-based role on commercial construction and remodel sites, including school projects. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday, typically from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with an expectation of around 40 hours per week and the possibility of overtime depending on project needs. Work takes place on active jobsites where you will be on your feet, working with tools, conduit, cabling, and control system components. Travel to different project sites may be required, and for certain projects, drive time may be paid or transportation to the site may be provided. The environment is hands-on and construction-oriented, requiring appropriate jobsite attire and adherence to safety practices at all times. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westminster, CO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
