Control-M Workload Automation Engineer

Job Description Description: Anivas Tech is seeking a Control-M Workload Automation Engineer to support our government agency IT operations. We are looking for a skilled professional with 10+ years of relevant experience who brings strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a mission-driven, high-visibility environment.Requirements: Administer, operate, and optimize the BMC Control-M workload automation platform supporting government agency batch processing and job scheduling operationsDesign, develop, and maintain job flows, scheduling calendars, and automation scripts within Control-M to support mission-critical business processesAnalyze business requirements and translate them into automated workflow solutions using Control-M capabilitiesMonitor batch job execution, proactively identify failures, and lead root cause analysis and resolution effortsPerform Control-M environment upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes in accordance with change management proceduresCollaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to integrate new workloads into the Control-M scheduling environmentDevelop and maintain documentation including job flow designs, runbooks, and operational proceduresImplement and enforce workload automation standards, naming conventions, and governance processesSupport capacity planning and performance tuning of the Control-M environment to meet batch SLAsProvide training and guidance to team members and stakeholders on Control-M usage and best practicesUS citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearanceBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 5 additional years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree10+ years of hands-on experience with BMC Control-M workload automation in a production environmentDeep knowledge of Control-M job scheduling, calendars, conditions, resources, and event-driven automationExperience administering Control-M Server, Agent, and EM components across multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, mainframe)Proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python, or PowerShell) for automation and job developmentStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex batch scheduling failures under time pressureSolid understanding of batch processing dependencies, SLA management, and workload balancingStrong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder and leadership engagementBMC Control-M certification or equivalent vendor trainingExperience in a federal government IT environmentAgile or SAFe delivery methodology experienceExperience integrating Control-M with CI/CD pipelines or DevOps toolchainsFamiliarity with cloud workload scheduling and Control-M Managed File Transfer (MFT) capabilities"Anivas Tech is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
