Anticipated Process CoordinatorSt James School District R1 Central Office - Saint James, Missouri Open in Google MapsJob DetailsJob ID: 5695584Application Deadline: Posted until filledPosted: May 06, 2026 5:00 AM (UTC)Starting Date: Aug 1, 2026Job DescriptionTitle: Process CoordinatorQualifications:Valid Missouri certificate issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Special Education or Speech / Language PathologyMaster's degreeThree to five years teaching experiencePositive interpersonal relationship skillsPositive team-building skillsExperience in testing/assessment administrationKnowledge of the Special Education process and lawsExcellent organizational skillsAppropriate communication skills (written and oral)Appropriate time management skillsReports To: Assistant Superintendent (district-wide planning) and Building Principal(s) (daily)Job Goal:The Process Coordinator is a professional who supervises the special education process from screening through identification, IEP development, and placement to ensure (1) appropriate identification and placement of students with disabilities; and (2) district compliance with state and federal requirements for the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).Performance Objectives:Collaborate with building/district staff to complete the special education process requirements, monitor timelines, and maintain all special education records as required by state and federal lawPerform assessments, evaluations, and write evaluation reportsServe as Local Educational Representative (LEA) at assigned special education meetings (IEP meetings and others), supervise the IEP process and implementation at designated buildingsConduct compliance efforts of special education PK-12 through age 21Conduct all special education staffingsReview transfer files, coordinate/complete the transfer process/placement for special education studentsHold periodic meetings with special educators teachers and staff on updates in the special education process and on other relevant department issues as neededGuide/complete the special education process requirements for private school studentsSupervise and implement surrogate parent procedures at designated buildingsPerform the role of liaison between regular education staff (Building Principal, Counselors, Teachers) and special education staff (Assistant Superintendent, Special Education Teachers and Paraprofessionals) to facilitate communication, collaboration and effective outcomes for students with disabilitiesCollaborate with district staff and guide completion of the appropriate disciplinary procedures for special education studentsMaintains confidentiality and non-judgmental views of children and families servedAttend professional workshops and monthly special education department staff meetingsAssist in collecting the data necessary to complete DESE, LEA, and other reportsComplete periodic file reviews to check for compliance with DESE process standardsComply with federal, state, local, and Board of Education policies and regulationsAny other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent or Building Principal(s)Terms of EmploymentEmployment is on an annual basis. The Superintendent makes employment recommendations in March of each year for the next fiscal year. The final decision is made by the Board of Education.
