FLORAL CLERKPart TimeLocation: 2020 Oregon Street and 920 Heinz AvePurpose: To ensure that floral product is processed, priced and merchandised for sale. Assists the floral department manager/buyer in all necessary operations to ensure department is prepared for daily sales activities. Status: Reports to Floral Department Manager/Buyer Responsibilities:Maintain Floral Department sales floor well stocked, attractive, clean, organized, and product labeled accurately. Assist with staging and maintaining seasonal displays.Provide prompt and courteous customer service. Assist customers in selecting and purchasing our product. Create custom bouquets as needed.Process flowers. This includes cleaning and stripping of foliage, division of product, proper sleeving, and accurately price/UPC labeling as determined by manager/buyer.Maintain the floral processing area in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times. This includes public walkways, coolers, floral room, washroom, and workstations.Clean and maintain all equipment including buckets, carts, shears, loppers, signage, sinks and drains. Notify manager/supervisor of any equipment in need of repair and replacement.Loading and unloading of product onto our company vehicle. Receive, unpack, and divide products to each store.Ensure excess product is stored in appropriate location, in appropriate containers and with correct water level.Safely drive the company vehicle to transport product to and from the Floral Market or between our stores.Follow all safety and security procedures, such as lifting properly, equipment handling, and correct baler operation.Assist in other areas of the business as necessary.Qualifications:Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED preferred.Knowledge/Skills:Able to understand written and spoken English.Basic computer and math skills required.Well-organized and detail oriented.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple demands.Basic knowledge of flowers and plants is preferred.Experience in serving the public preferred.Other:Valid Driver's License.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Able to stand for extended periods of time.Willingness to work various shifts including early morning, evenings, and weekends.Pay range: $19.50 - $29.50 per hour
