Position OverviewJob Posting: Pediatric Hospitalist – Main Campus and Community Locations:Our organization, along with the Division of Hospital Medicine, is on the lookout for pediatric hospitalists eager to pursue careers in either academic or community hospital medicine as we broaden our clinical services and enhance our educational initiatives. Our Division comprises over 70 faculty members across three locations, fostering a diverse range of clinical, educational, quality improvement, and research interests.We are currently focused on hiring hospitalists for our Main Campus in Phoenix, as well as our community locations, Phoenix Children's – Arrowhead and Phoenix Children's – East Valley. Available roles include both standard and nocturnist positions, with a shift differential offered for nocturnists.The Main Campus in Phoenix is a standalone children's hospital featuring a level 1 trauma center and extensive subspecialty care. There are numerous opportunities to engage in research, quality improvement, and educational activities. We host a well-established, ACGME-accredited two-year pediatric hospitalist fellowship program with six fellows and play a vital role in the medical education of a large pediatric residency program. Our faculty members also hold academic positions at the University of Arizona, Creighton University, and the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.Phoenix Children's – Arrowhead is a new freestanding children's hospital set to open in Summer 2024. This facility will feature a 32-bed unit, including a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and a Pediatric Emergency Department, along with comprehensive subspecialty support and 24/7 in-house coverage by hospitalists and intensive care providers. There will also be opportunities to teach medical students, residents, and hospitalist fellows.Phoenix Children's – East Valley is a freestanding Women & Children's center in Gilbert, scheduled to open in 2026. This site will include a 24-bed unit with both a PICU and a Pediatric Emergency Department, as well as comprehensive subspecialty support and 24/7 in-house coverage by hospitalists and intensive care providers. Newborn care will be provided in collaboration with Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (no delivery attendance or NICU coverage required). Teaching opportunities for medical students, residents, and hospitalist fellows will also be available.We seek dedicated clinicians, leaders, scholars, and educators to join our vibrant Division of Hospital Medicine. All applicants must be board eligible or certified in general pediatrics.Phoenix ranks as the fifth largest city in the U.S., boasting over 300 days of sunshine each year!Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a Curriculum Vitae and cover letter to our Physician Talent Acquisition Partner.The staff physician will deliver patient care services and support our mission of providing hope, healing, and exceptional healthcare for children and their families.Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Services1) Deliver patient care services for which the physician is clinically privileged, including but not limited to: a) Direct patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings b) Provide subspecialty consultations and follow-up care c) Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures d) Offer urgent/emergent care services as needed2) Aim to provide the highest quality of patient and family-centered care3) Support the hospital's patient satisfaction goals as well as specific division targets4) Adhere to divisional standards for patient safety and quality of care5) Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine or the latest experience-based approachesDivisional Responsibilities1) Set and demonstrate efforts to meet annual goals and objectives for physicians (individual, division, hospital)2) Contribute to the medical education programs and activities of the Division, including but not limited to: a) Direct supervision of trainees and allied health professionals in delivering inpatient and outpatient services when applicable b) Conduct teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees c) Participate in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals assigned to the division d) Engage in postgraduate continuing education activities of the division3) Support the division's research initiatives, including those led by other members4) Foster programmatic growth within the division5) Assist with satellite efforts of the division as appropriateProfessionalism1) Treat colleagues, employees, and patients with courtesy, dignity, and respect2) Promote a safe, collaborative, and professional healthcare environment3) Uphold the organization's mission, vision, and values, including family-centered care, excellence in clinical practice, leadership, collaboration, and accountabilityAdditional Activities1) Support the Division Chief in acting as a liaison to the professional community and the public as requested2) Conduct teaching rounds or conferences outside the organization, particularly if these activities support divisional clinical and educational initiatives3) Represent the organization in the medical and business communities and to the public in a professional manner4) The following physical and mental skills are essential for the physician to successfully perform the aforementioned duties: a) Ability to communicate via telephone, computer, or other communication devices b) Capability to fulfill after-hours or night call responsibilities as needed c) Ability to maintain a regular work schedulePerform other job-related duties as assigned.
