Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Salary:Shepard Steel is looking for a Maintenance Technician, with experience in the metal fabrication industry.Under the direct supervision of the General Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, the maintenance technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property infrastructure. These items include but are not limited to:Troubleshoot and repair of welding machinesTroubleshoot and repair of overhead cranes - 5 Ton capacityPerform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and painting repairs as necessaryPerform preventative maintenance measures regularlyMaintain inventory of production supplies and repair parts for factory equipmentTroubleshoot and coordinate machine repairs with remote tech supportComplete inspections of safety systemsRespond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocolGeneral automotive repair and maintenanceSnow removal - operating plow trucks, skid steers, snow blowersPerform other maintenance duties as requestedMaintenance Technician Required Skills:High school diploma or equivalentAbility to speak, read and write in EnglishValid drivers licensePhysically capable of lifting/pushing/pulling 70 pounds unassistedPhysically capable of bending/twisting as well as standing for long periods of timeAble to work well with minimal supervision as well as with other techniciansAbility to prioritize tasks and follow specified proceduresSelf-motivated, detail oriented and has a positive attitudeWillingness to work overtime as neededMust be willing to submit a drug test and background checkBenefits:Competitive salary (based on skill set)Health InsuranceVision InsuranceDental InsuranceLife Insurance401(k) Plan with Employer Match / Profit Sharing1st Shift Monday Friday (Additional overtime as required)Full Time PositionVacation / Holidays / Earned Days / BirthdaysShepard Steel is a structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication company that has been an integral part of the Connecticut construction landscape for over 65 years.
