Together, we collaborate on each project to offer a “think out of the box approach” to solutions because we believe in assisting our clients with options and quality consultations.Position SummaryThe Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely invoicing of customers, application of payments, and management of outstanding receivables to ensure strong cash flow and accurate financial records.This role plays a key part in maintaining customer relationships, resolving billing discrepancies, and supporting overall financial operations in a fast-paced, project-based environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and able to balance accuracy with proactive follow-through.Pay Range: $23.00 - 27.00 / hourKey ResponsibilitiesBilling & InvoicingPrepare and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely mannerEnsure invoices align with contracts, services rendered, and project termsMaintain consistency and accuracy in all billing activitiesCollections & Cash ApplicationMonitor outstanding balances and proactively follow up on overdue accountsPerform collections activities while maintaining strong customer relationshipsAccurately process and apply customer payments to the appropriate accountsInvestigate and resolve discrepancies between invoices and paymentsAccount Reconciliation & MaintenanceReconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy and completenessMaintain up-to-date customer records, including invoices and payment historyIdentify and resolve variances or outstanding issues in a timely mannerCustomer & Cross-Functional SupportCommunicate professionally with customers regarding billing, payments, and account statusRespond to inquiries and assist in resolving billing disputesPartner with internal teams (e.g., sales, operations, project teams) to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracyMonth-End Close & ReportingAssist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivablePrepare reports and schedules to support management reviewEnsure AR subledger aligns with the general ledgerOperational SupportSupport special projects and ad hoc requests as assignedContribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracyCore Competencies & SkillsCommunication & Customer FocusCommunicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal stakeholdersProvide responsive, high-quality support and serviceAttention to Detail & AccuracyEnsure precision in invoicing, payment application, and reconciliationMaintain high-quality, audit-ready recordsProblem Solving & Critical ThinkingIdentify discrepancies and root causes of issuesResolve problems independently or escalate appropriatelyOrganization & Time ManagementManage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentMaintain strong follow-through on outstanding itemsAdaptability & Continuous LearningApply new information to improve processes and outcomesRemain flexible in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related accounting roleConstruction or project-based accounting experience preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office SuiteExperience with accounting or ERP systems preferredDemonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentialityAbout LegenceLegence (Nasdaq: LGN) is a leading provider of engineering, consulting, installation, and maintenance services for mission-critical systems in buildings.
