Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob DescriptionThe Manufacturing Engineer supports new and existing manufacturing processes, acting as a key technical resource across production, quality, and design engineering. This role is hands-on and production-facing, with a strong focus on assembly processes, machining support, documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This is a new and urgent role, created to support increasing production demands and serve as a strong technical bridge between the production floor and design engineering teams.Responsibilities+ Support new product development by providing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) input on assembly methods, materials, tooling, fixturing, inspection requirements, labor, and cost.+ Assist the production team with prototype builds, process setup, and transition to production.+ Provide day-to-day technical support to the Production Supervisor, troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues related to slip ring and electromechanical assembly.+ Support machining and CNC-related processes as needed.+ Create, update, and maintain work instructions, SOPs, and assembly documentation.+ Support quality documentation activities and ensure assigned actions are properly documented.+ Assist in documenting incoming parts, new processes, and production changes.+ Serve as the technical lead for assembly efficiency, ergonomics, and automation improvements.+ Support Manufacturing 4.0 and continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost.+ Write technical justifications and submit capital requests for new equipment and machinery.+ Work closely with design engineering teams to support manufacturability, project planning, and implementation.+ Act as a day-to-day communication link between production, engineering, and operations, including coordination with an Iowa-based design team.+ Coordinate with vendors or suppliers regarding tooling, equipment, or production-related issues.Essential Skills+ Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement principles.+ Hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis capability.+ Ability to create and maintain clear, structured documentation.+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office.+ Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.+ Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.+ Professional, organized, analytical, and adaptable work style.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.+ Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or similar role.+ Experience with machining and CNC operations.+ Experience with automation or semi-automated equipment.+ CAD software experience.+ Experience in industrial engineering, design, time studies, manufacturing process, product development process, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and SOP.Work EnvironmentSchedule: Full-time, Tuesday-Friday, 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM with paid overtime if needed. The role is within a high-performance electromechanical component manufacturing company. Engineers work closely with production, design engineering, and operations to continuously improve manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and throughput in a dynamic production environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of South El Monte, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
