Exploration Geophysicist

Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (NAVFAC EXWC) has an exciting opportunity for a Geophysicist to join our team and support the Geothermal Program Office at Ridgecrest (China Lake), CA.This is your chance to apply your expertise to one of the most significant geothermal resources in the nation, directly contributing to the Navy's energy resilience and security.As a key member of our team, your duties will include:Leading and participating in exploration geophysical surveys to identify and characterize geothermal resources.Analyzing and interpreting complex geophysical data sets to model geothermal systems and guide drilling operations.Monitoring reservoir performance and utilizing geophysical techniques to optimize energy production and sustainability.Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of geologists, engineers, and scientists to manage and expand our geothermal capabilities.Qualifications:Must-Have: A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physical Science, Geology, or Geological Science, coupled with relevant professional experience.Ideal Candidate: You'll stand out if you have an advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) or demonstrate extensive, independent expertise/experience in geothermal exploration and reservoir management.Highly Desirable: Hands-on experience with geophysical tools and methods such as gravity/microgravity surveys, magnetotellurics (MT), or seismic analysis and processing tools such as Oasis Montaj.What We Offer:Competitive salary based on your degree, experience, and market rates.
