Head of DevOps

Head of DevOps | JerusalemWe are looking for an experienced Head of DevOps to lead and scale a global DevOps team in a complex, mission-critical technology environment.This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership position combining team management, DevOps transformation, automation, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in transforming complex manual configuration and deployment processes into scalable, semi-automated solutions.Key Responsibilities• Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed DevOps team • Manage recruitment, training, task allocation, and delivery • Drive automation of complex configuration and deployment processes • Oversee environment versioning, configuration management, and infrastructure automation • Establish and promote DevOps best practices across the organization • Improve monitoring, incident response, security, reliability, and scalability • Build and maintain CI/CD and automated deployment processes • Collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, and customer-facing teams • Evaluate and introduce technologies that improve operational efficiency and delivery speedRequirements• 7+ years of DevOps/SRE experience • At least 5 years of leadership or managerial experience • Strong Linux systems administration background • Experience with large-scale on-premise / non-cloud environments • Strong knowledge of Git and SVN • Experience with database application versioning • Strong scripting skills, preferably Python • Experience managing mission-critical production systems • Experience working with multiple external customers • Excellent written and spoken EnglishStrong Advantages• Ansible and infrastructure automation • Jenkins, GitLab, or similar CI/CD platforms • Docker and container technologies • MariaDB/MySQL experience • RPM packaging • Messaging systems • Experience in fintech, financial systems, or high-performance/low-latency environments
