Electrical Engineer

Position Overview: Gregory Ralph, Architect | GRA Design Studio is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. We provide architectural and design services for commercial and residential projects, focusing on custom design. Responsibilities: Design and integrate electrical systems for buildings, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements. Coordinate with architects and other engineers to incorporate electrical designs into overall building plans. Perform calculations and simulations to optimize electrical systems for efficiency and reliability. Prepare specifications, review contractor submissions, and conduct site inspections during construction. Implement energy-efficient practices and sustainable design principles in electrical system designs. Engage with clients to understand their needs, present design solutions, and address feedback. Ensure designs meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety codes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve project goals and support firm objectives. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 4+ years of experience in designing electrical systems for buildings or similar projects. Proficiency in project management software for tracking and managing project progress. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams. Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contract documentation across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering. Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED certification processes. Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) software such as Revit.
