Refurb Center MerchandiserThis role accelerates business value by being responsible for the overall quality and output of each refurbished merchandiser within refurbcenters in plants, remote locations or separate warehouse area of an existing plant.Duties and responsibilities include conducting quality refurbishing under the supervisors lead, conforming to all company, federal state, and local guidelines for quality, environmental, and safety standards, maintaining and controlling the inventory of all merchandiser refurbishment parts and supplies, working continuously to improve the refurbishment centers operations, utilization, and cost control, ensuring standardized work processes are followed, conducting quality checks, assisting plant merchandiser techs for service calls or preventive maintenance calls, assisting the plant for service calls, maintenance, and box deliveries/pick ups, assisting with loading and unloading boxes received and shipped out of the refurbcenters as well as parts shipments coming in, coordinating with lead supervisor when new parts are received and signed for, ensuring the completed paperwork is completed, coordinating when boxes are received or shipped out with the lead supervisor and ensuring the proper transfer paperwork is given to the lead Supervisor, responsible for wearing appropriate eye and hand protection when required, performing miscellaneous job duties as assigned by the Supervisor, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the refurbishment center itself as well as all tools, inventories, and any and all equipment and grounds surrounding the center, making and assuming other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management, adhering to the Code of Business Ethics, maintaining high safety standards.Essential mental functions and skills include the ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, ability to work in an unfatigued state, ability to accurately gauge lengths of time and distance, ability to quickly store and recall instructions in one's short term memory, ability to concentrate and perform tasks involving high levels of cognitive function and judgment, ability to cope with sudden changes in surrounding and/or emergency situations and/or alarms, demonstrate a caring, committed and concerned attitude about safety, possess fast reflexes and unimpaired coordination and ability to rapidly respond to stimuli, not mentally or physically impaired from any cause that can adversely affect ability to safely and competently perform required functions, ability to take prompt and appropriate response to operating conditions.Supervisory responsibility: NoneEducation and experience: High School Degree or GED required Trade School certificate preferred but not required Minimum 1 year experience in the refrigeration field preferred but not required EPA certification preferred but not requiredWorking conditions/physical requirements: This position mainly works at the plant repair shop. Exposure to hazards from electrical and mechanical equipment; possible use of paint. Some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling required; units on top of box weigh approximately 150 lbs.; must be able to move merchandisers with proper equipment (700 800 lbs). Good manual dexterity required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
