Our focused technology areas: AI/ML (Agentic AI Solutions, GenAI/LLMs, Natural Language Processing, Intelligent Processing, Physical Intelligence) Data & Analytics (Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Migration, Data Modernization, Big Data, Analytics and BI) Cloud (Cloud Computing, Cloud Migration, Cloud-Native Architecture, Hybrid and Multi-Cloud) Digital Engineering (Application Modernization, Product Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevSecOps) Quality Engineering (Manual Testing, Non-functional testing, Test Automation, Digital Testing) Enterprise Platforms (SAP, Microsoft, Oracle, etc.) Our focused industries and target segments: Banking, Financial Services, & Insurance Manufacturing, Transportation, & Logistics Energy & Utilities Telecom & Media Healthcare & Life-sciences Government & Public Sector (FED, SLED, & Partners) Hi-Tech Job Description Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for a LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN LEAD ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (LOCATIONS: Overland Park, Ann Arbor, Houston, Phoenix, Raleigh, Chattanooga, Chicago, Jacksonville, Gaithersburg) MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES: Functions in a lead technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisory role Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline and contributes to the development of innovative engineering solutions Utilizes digital design tools and software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modelling) following standardized procedures to create, modifies, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables Responsible for technical quality, schedule adherence, and budget compliance, while effectively coordinating efforts across departments, teams, and stakeholders May supervise engineering technicians and support staff by coordinating, overseeing, and guiding conceptual and detailed design activities to ensure quality, efficiency, and alignment with project objectives SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Establishes, communicates, and enforces design and graphic standards Reviews project requirements to determine correct formats and deliverable content Promotes quality across projects, groups, and sections Reviews design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance Ensures that design deliverables are prepared, coordinated among disciplines, and issued in accordance with client Quality Assurance Procedures and project specific procedures Improves integration, coordination, and communication across disciplines Applies sound engineering fundamentals and established design practices in developing deliverables Exercises judgment, makes work-related decisions, and guides other professionals Monitors production to assure consistency , budget, and schedule of deliverables Establishes drawing control methods and maintains historical records May supports field activities Communicates project design requirements, progress, and schedules Champions development and improvement of project tools and software applications QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required. Power generation design industry experience. Typically a minimum of 15 years related work experience. Experience with 3D modeling of equipment, Duct bank design, cable tray design, grounding, lighting (extra) AGI experience is not required but preferred. Candidate will be using Bentley MicroStation primarily Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
