Operator ShippingJob Category: Logistics Requisition Number: OPERA002459 Location: Buda, TX 78610, USA DescriptionTexas Lehigh Cement Company - Buda, TX $26 - $28/hr. based on experience Job Summary: Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Operator is responsible for the safe operation of bulk cement product distribution. It requires hands-on operation and occasional maintenance of packing and rail equipment, developing proficiency in bulk truck, railcar, and packing operations. Roles and Responsibilities: Safely and efficiently load and unload goods from trucks, railcars and vessels. Ensure goods are stored in appropriate locations and maintain accurate inventory records. Loads bulk unit trucks correctly, providing legal weights and proper product for customer delivery or pick up. Operate heavy equipment Maintaining terminal buildings and equipment in good condition and operating equipment safely. Communicate effectively with customers, team members, managers, and other stakeholders. Fosters a positive work environment and promotes teamwork. Support and maintain the company safety program by performing work area inspections, holding safety toolbox talks, and complying with environmental regulations. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a secure and clean work environment. Assist with equipment maintenance and ensure it is in good working order. Adhere to all relevant regulations and industry standards. May be required to perform other duties as assigned by management to meet the ongoing needs of operations. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to work rotating shifts and extended hours. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Accurate record-keeping and organizational skills. Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to adapt to changing work conditions and prioritize. Must be available for on-call rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Physical Requirements: Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions. Walking, climbing stairs and occasional ladders, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, driving, and squatting to perform the essential functions of this position. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., stand, walk, climb ladders and or stairs. Work outside in adverse weather conditions including extreme temperatures, heavy dust and noisy environments. Must have good hand/eye coordination and vision to safely fulfill all in-plant job requirements. Pass required background check, physical examination and drug screens Education/Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Prior experience with rotating shift work and extended hours is preferred. Prior industry experience preferred.
