It's not just good sense, it's good business.Job PurposeThe Encapsulation Machine Operator-Apprentice is responsible for processing blends into filled capsule form according to written instructions and compliance with cGMPs, SOP's and the work order under supervision.Essential DutiesRead work orders to determine production specifications or information for capsule creation.Maintains thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment related to the encapsulation process, including but not limited to; room and equipment cleanliness, machinery setup, product verification (before, during, and after product run).Verifies that proper documentation is completed accurately, timely, and properly filed.Weigh or measure materials, or products to ensure conformance to requirements set by the work order.Accountable for the quality of the product that is produced.Continuously looking for opportunities to improve the current process.Follow all SOP's and cGMP requirements.Participate in all applicable safety and food safety training and wear proper personal protective equipment as needed.Maintain a clean workspace by assisting in housekeeping duties to minimize food safety risks.Disassemble, wash, sanitize, and dry tooling and any encapsulation equipment.Clean and or wash encapsulation roomAble to lift 50 pounds.Use material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks.Willing to work overtime as necessary.Other duties may be assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education:* High school diploma /GED or equivalent work experience is preferred.Experience:Prioritization and time management skillsWorking quickly without compromising qualityMechanical skills and or encapsulation machinery experienceIn a food facility or facility that follows cGMP practices is preferred but not required.Key Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.Knowledge and following of cGMP guidelines.Ability to communicate thoroughly with peers and management.Good mechanical skills
