About the OpportunityA rapidly growing aerospace company focused on developing next-generation spacecraft technology is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design, prototyping, testing, and integration of spacecraft hardware and mechanical systems.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments and enjoys turning complex engineering concepts into reliable, flight-ready hardware under aggressive timelines. The organization values engineers who combine analytical rigor with creativity, practicality, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.Key Responsibilities· Design, prototype, test, and deliver flight-ready spacecraft components and mechanical systems· Own hardware development from conceptual design through qualification and on-orbit operations· Support rapid hardware iteration and validation in demanding environments· Perform and correlate engineering analyses to ensure hardware reliability in spaceflight conditions· Collaborate cross-functionally on tightly integrated spacecraft systems and mechanisms· Balance simplicity, manufacturability, performance, and reliability in design decisions· Support integration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous hardware improvement effortsQualifications· Approximately 4–6 years of mechanical design experience, ideally involving aerospace, spacecraft, or other high-reliability systems· Experience owning hardware or mechanical assemblies from clean-sheet design through deployment or production· Strong CAD proficiency and mechanical design expertise· Deep understanding of mechanical fundamentals, including bolted joint design and tolerance analysis· Strong practical manufacturing knowledge and familiarity with machining capabilities and constraints· Experience designing complex, interdependent systems in collaborative engineering environments· Hands-on troubleshooting and rapid prototyping experience preferred· Comfortable operating with significant autonomy and accountability· Candidates with unconventional experience or nontraditional backgrounds are encouraged to apply if they bring exceptional technical aptitude and a demonstrated ability to solve difficult engineering challenges.Benefits· Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage· HSA, FSA, and 401(k) options· Unlimited paid time off, with encouraged annual time away· Daily healthy lunches provided· High-impact engineering environment with significant ownership and growth opportunitiesEqual Opportunity EmployerThis organization is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants based on qualifications, merit, and business needs, without regard to legally protected characteristics.
