Host/Hostess Skills Requirements Assists bussers and servers working as an entire team effort to ensure members/guests have an exceptional experience Maintains accurate reservation records Ensures floors are cleaned and hokied Adjusts to high pressure situations well Strong communication skills Organizational skills; ability to stay organized in a changing environment Utilizes time management skills to complete projects and assignments Exhibits the drive to provide exceptional member service Ability to maintain a professional, composed and calm demeanor at all times Position Requirements Greets and acknowledges members/guests immediately upon their arrival Greets members with name recognition Seats members/guests by escorting them to their assigned table, pulling out chairs, and distributing menus Presents menus and engages in polite conversation, creating a personal dining experience Promptly informs Servers of member/guest reservation, arrival, and/or tables assignment Communicates new table seating promptly with Bussers Updates the floor chart continuously Collects menus and returns them to the host area Cleans menus as needed Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty, and/or occupied Assists in bussing and resetting tables, as needed Informs the Department Head immediately of members/guests who are dissatisfied Completes side work as directed Answers the phone in accordance to organization's standards Maintains work area in a professional manner Responsible for flow of table distribution to service staff members ensuring that table assignments and rotations are fairly distributed Drug Free Workplace
