RECRUITMENT: The State Highway Administration (SHA) is recruiting for a Transportation Engineer I – Construction Track. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below for this position. This position is located in Hanover at the Office of Traffic and Safety or various SHA District Offices statewide. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill current and future vacancies in this classification throughout the entire agency.
This announcement may also be used for future vacancies throughout the state of Maryland for SHA.
Nature of Work: This is an entry level engineering position in which the incumbent will work applying engineering theories, principles, and standards to a variety of construction engineering tasks. In a learning capacity, reviews plans and specifications, performs bridges and roadway construction work inspection, testing, attend various meetings, and prepares supporting documentation under the direction of an experienced engineer.

Qualifications
Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction engineering from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None required.
Note: Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the state of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements.
