Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various settings, including hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and critical care. This role involves providing respiratory care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, in both inpatient and outpatient environments. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and collaborating with medical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine respiratory needs and develop appropriate care plans. Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including the use of ventilators and airway management techniques. Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory conditions and treatment options. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in critical care settings, including ICU and PICU. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of treatments administered. Stay current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices and participate in ongoing professional development. Qualifications Proven experience in hospital settings, particularly in acute care environments such as Level I and Level II trauma centers. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pulmonology. Proficiency in basic life support techniques and medication administration related to respiratory therapy. Experience with patient assessment and management in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and critical care practices. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education. Previous experience in operating rooms (OR) is a plus.
