Shine Bright.Position OverviewThe Event Sales & Convention Services Manager is a hybrid OEM role responsible for servicing all group bookings contracted by the Sales team (excluding social catering) while also owning the sales, detailing, and execution of non-social, event-only business.This role is highly execution-focused and requires a hands-on approach, with responsibility spanning from event sales through operational delivery, ensuring all programs are executed seamlessly and in alignment with hotel standards.Key ResponsibilitiesConvention Services (Group Booking Execution)Detail and execute all group bookings turned over by Sales Managers, excluding social cateringServe as the primary point of contact from turnover through program completionPrepare and distribute Group Resumes and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) with precision and operational clarityLead pre-convention meetings and coordinate all internal departmentsDistribute weekly event forecasts and resume packets (10–14 day outlook)Ensure accuracy across meeting space, F&B, AV, rooming, and billing detailsGreet and support clients on-site to ensure seamless executionEvent Sales Ownership (Non-Social, Event-Only)Prospect, solicit, and secure event-only and corporate meeting business without guest roomsRespond to inbound leads and RFPs with customized proposalsConduct site tours and presentations to drive conversionNegotiate contracts, pricing, and concessions in alignment with revenue strategyManage the full lifecycle of event-only bookings from lead through execution and billingClient Experience & Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with corporate planners and agenciesProvide consistent, high-level communication throughout the planning processAnticipate client needs and proactively enhance the experienceResolve challenges quickly and professionally during planning and on-site executionRevenue & Financial AccountabilityDrive incremental revenue through upselling of F&B, AV, and ancillary servicesMonitor contracted minimums and ensure compliance with all financial termsManage deposits, billing instructions, and final invoicing in partnership with FinanceEnsure all balances are collected in accordance with contract terms prior to arrival when requiredOperational LeadershipAct as the bridge between Sales and Operations, ensuring a clean and effective turnover processCommunicate all updates and changes clearly and in real time to operational teamsMaintain a high level of detail to support flawless executionSupport internal accountability and adherence to established SOPsOEM Classification & Work ExpectationsThis position is classified as an Overtime Eligible Manager (OEM) and is expected to be hands-on in event executionSchedule will vary based on business demands and includes evenings, weekends, and holidaysOvertime may be required during high-volume periods, large programs, or complex event executionActive on-site presence is required for key group arrivals, peak event times, and high-profile clientsQualifications3–5+ years of experience in Convention Services, Event Sales, or Hotel SalesProven ability to detail complex group programs and sell event-driven businessStrong knowledge of hotel operations, banquet service, and event logisticsExperience with Delphi, Opera, CVENT systems preferredStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsCore CompetenciesOwnership mindset from turnover through executionStrong attention to detail with an operational focusRevenue-driven with sales capabilityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentCollaborative and solutions-orientedPerformance Metrics (Success Measures)Event-only revenue production and conversion ratesAccuracy and timeliness of resumes and BEOsClient satisfaction and repeat businessOn-time billing, deposit collection, and zero-balance event executionResponsiveness to client and internal communication (goal: same-day response)Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
