MS/US French Teacher

Currently, The Agnes Irwin School is seeking a full-time Middle and Upper School French Teacher beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. Successful candidates will be committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of students through the mission of The Agnes Irwin School and its Core Values of Strive for Excellence, Lead with Character, Nurture Passions and Wellbeing, Foster Trust and Community, and Respect and Celebrate All.The Ideal Candidate:Embraces the Agnes Irwin School's mission to empower each girl to learn, lead, and live a legacy, and is committed to the ethos of girls' education.Demonstrates a dedication to continuous growth and development of cross-cultural awareness and the necessary skills to engage with and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.Regards collaboration as an essential component of professional growth and values working on a team.Is willing to engage across difference with empathy and understandingPrincipal Position Responsibilities/DutiesTeach and manage students in four sections of French, which can range from intro to French to French VPrepare course materialsMaintain student attendance and grade recordsEvaluate, provide feedback and grade students' workBe available to meet with students during office hours and planning periodsCreate and maintain a caring, safe environment conducive to students doing their best workImplement current curriculum and contribute to its ongoing developmentParticipate in the life of the middle/upper school by serving as an advisor, club sponsor and/or coachParticipate in all staff meetings, assemblies, and other required school functions, including occasional evening or weekend events and overnight chaperoning responsibilitiesSupport the work of the Admissions Department during visit days and other admission and retention eventsWork constructively with parents and colleaguesInform parents, students, and Division Director of students' progress through written reports and conferencesAttend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities, and participate in the faculty evaluation processAssume other duties as assignedSuccessful Candidates Will Possess:Bachelor's Degree in French or related field (advanced degree and previous teaching experience preferred in middle or upper school)Native or near-native fluency in French is requiredProficiency in the use of classroom technology: interactive smart boards, LMS, various Google and Microsoft Office applications, etcStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate respect for different values and viewpoints
