Accountant
OverviewThe Accountant is responsible for supporting the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger by reviewing financial transactions, preparing account reconciliations and analyses, and recording journal entries as part of the monthly close process. The role also supports fixed asset accounting, accruals, prepaid expenses, audit preparation, and ongoing process improvements while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed account reconciliations and analyses to support general ledger balancesInvestigate and resolve discrepancies, preparing adjusting journal entries as neededPrepare and upload month-end journal entries into ERP system with appropriate supporting documentationAssist accounting team members with monthly close and reconciliation activitiesReconcile balance sheet accounts including accruals, prepaid expenses, and depositsMaintain the fixed asset ledger, including processing asset additions, retirements, and disposalsPerform monthly reconciliations between the fixed asset subledger and the general ledgerGenerate and review monthly depreciation calculations within the fixed asset systemEnsure accounts receivable and accounts payable subledgers reconcile accurately at month-endMonitor prepaid balances to ensure expenses are recognized in the appropriate accounting periodsMaintain prepaid expense schedules with complete supporting documentationSupport reconciliation of intercompany balances for international affiliatesProcess recurring journal entries and ensure accruals are recorded accurately and timelyPrepare and submit monthly wholesale census reports based on sales information provided by managementProvide auditors with reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting schedules during annual auditsSupport annual audit activities and assist with additional requests as neededParticipate in system implementations and process improvement initiativesPerform additional accounting projects and responsibilities as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMinimum of 2+ years of relative, general accounting experience requiredExcellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet month-end deadlinesAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, and MacrosExperience working with an ERP system, such as JDE, SAP, or OracleExperience with software like Power Bi or BI360 a plusDetail-oriented, proactive, and able to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organizationMotivated professional seeking growth opportunities within a high-performing team environment
