Job Responsibilities
Engage with students during recess and lunch while fostering a safe and enjoyable environment.
Collaborate within classroom settings to reinforce positive behavior and character development.
Track and document student progress related to targeted character traits and social skills.
Engage students in games and activities that promote teamwork, self-awareness, and positive relationships.
Serve as a role model by demonstrating kindness, effective leadership, and advocacy skills.
Encourage and support students in making better choices and practicing good decision-making.
Communicate professionally and effectively with administrators, teachers, and other school staff regarding student progress and behavior.
Stay self-motivated, bringing enthusiasm and a positive attitude to daily interactions with students.
Develop strong relationships with students to encourage personal growth and enhance their overall school experience.
After School Responsibilities:
Work with small groups of students during after-school programs to provide support and engagement.
Implement a provided curriculum that includes games and short lessons focused on fitness, health, and positive character traits.
Foster meaningful connections with students to enhance their social and emotional development.
Encourage a positive and inclusive environment that promotes teamwork and cooperation among students.
Monitor student participation and progress within activities, offering guidance and support as needed.
Collaborate with staff to create a cohesive after-school experience that aligns with the overall program goals.
Provide positive reinforcement to students, celebrating their achievements and encouraging continuous improvement.
Adapt activities and lessons as necessary to meet the diverse needs and interests of students.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and experienced instructors to support student engagement initiatives and promote a positive school culture.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student engagement activities and after-school enrichment programs.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in behavior management, social-emotional learning, and program facilitation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
some college coursework or relevant experience required.
Demonstrated interest in working with children and youth in educational or recreational settings.
Basic knowledge of child development principles, behavior management techniques, and social-emotional learning strategies.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to the needs of diverse student populations.
Negative TB Test (or willingness to obtain).
Commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for all students.
