SALARY RANGE: From $22.00 to $24.00 an hour Depending on Experience BENEFITS: Health Insurance Dental Insurance Company Paid Short- & Long-Term Disability HRA Vision Plan 401K Plan Generous PTO Policy THE OPPORTUNITY: The environmental service technician (“housekeeper”) performs a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain operating rooms, pre- and post-operative areas, bathrooms, offices, and other assigned areas. He or she will work closely with departmental leaders and teammates to ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety are achieved in every area. The environmental service technician (“housekeeper”) will demonstrate a positive attitude and the willingness to provide exceptional customer service, and all interactions with staff, patients, physicians, and managers will be carried out with due regard for respect and confidentiality. WORK ENVIRONMENT - PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Work is performed in a healthcare setting, which may include patient care areas, clinical spaces, and support service environments. Exposure to cleaning chemicals such as disinfectants and bleach products is expected. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including scrubs, gloves, and masks is provided and required for use when performing job duties. Performs terminal cleaning of surgical, procedure, and exam rooms in accordance with infection control standards. Cleans and disinfects offices, exam rooms, procedure rooms, operating rooms, diagnostic areas, patient care areas, hallways, waiting areas, bathrooms, kitchens, administrative/tech pods, and other assigned spaces per established policies and procedures. Replenishes supplies in dispensers, including paper towels, toilet tissue, and hand soap. Cleans and disinfects furnishings and equipment such as chairs, exam tables, counters, stands, stretchers, wheelchairs, and other high-touch surfaces. Cleans bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, fixtures, and related surfaces. Washes walls, doors, vents, mopboards, and other surfaces per established guidelines. Cleans interior windows and all glass surfaces. Performs floor care including dry mopping, damp mopping, and vacuuming carpets. Performs high dusting of sills, ledges, vents, light fixtures, picture frames, and other elevated surfaces. Properly collects, handles, and disposes of regular and confidential waste. Stocks and manages clean and soiled linens according to established procedures. Cleans physician offices and administrative areas, including during surgical times as available. Follows all organizational safety methods, infection control standards, and departmental procedures. Completes required daily, weekly, and monthly checklists and submits documentation in a timely manner. Works effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. At least 2 years prior cleaning experience, terminal cleaning experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred. Requires verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
