Project Manager I

Wisconsin Resident Project Manager Candidates MUST be WI residents or willing to relocate to WI at their own expense prior to starting. This position can work 100% remotely (within the state of WI).Job Summary Manages multiple non-enterprise projects with the College of Engineering and more specifically Computer Aided Engineering, with a heavy emphasis on determining scope, prioritizing, allocating resources, sequencing work, and driving teams to completion on-time. Managing change control will also be a key skill to ensure success of all projects.Responsibilities 10% - Formulates and defines project scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems, processes, and requirements5% - Determines and recommends approaches for optimal solutions within cost/performance objectives10% - Participates in requirements planning and feasibility determination10% - Tracks, reports, escalates risks, issues, and decisions; and guides stakeholders towards options.25% Lead cross-functional project teams and guide work through the project life cycle. May function in project capacities including requirements gathering, functional design, functional configuration, testing, and documentation.15% Perform regular reporting and share outs to stakeholders.10% Determines WBS and schedules tasks using appropriate methodologies5% - Prepares reports, documents meetings, and needed artifacts to ensure the project meets commitmentsRequired Qualifications Excellent communication skills that effectively present findings to stakeholders, improve productivity, and coordinate updates with multiple and diverse stakeholders.At least a CAPM (or equivalent) level of certification in project management.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, but also work independently to elucidate project needs, goals, and clarify outcomes.Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail, including the ability to write clear and well-structured business requirements and documentation.Experience moving from stakeholder concepts to project initiation and driving through to project completion.Ability to influence and work within a diverse and nuanced stakeholder group.Track progress and prepare communications with relevant levels of details for numerous stakeholder types.Ability to handle multiple projects and work-streams simultaneously.Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple projects independently to meet deadlines and complete tasks in an accurate manner.Strong meeting facilitation skills for both small and large meetings.Preferred Qualifications Master's degreeFamiliarity with SmartSheetProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification.Can create reports, dashboards and visualizations to help others understand project performance.Experience at a higher education institution, state government, or large highly complex organization.
