Job Title: Licensed Journeyman PlumberLocation: Central TexasEmployment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Plumbing Supervisor / Master PlumberJob SummaryThe Licensed Journeyman Plumber is responsible for independently performing the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems in residential and light commercial environments. This role requires a strong understanding of Texas plumbing codes, the ability to manage jobsite activities, and the professionalism to work directly with customers. The Journeyman Plumber may also provide guidance and oversight to apprentices or tradesman plumbers as needed.Key ResponsibilitiesPlumbing Installation & ServiceInstall, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, fixtures, and appliancesPerform rough-in, trim-out, and final plumbing work for residential and light commercial projectsDiagnose and resolve plumbing issues including leaks, clogs, water heater failures, sewer line problems, and fixture replacementsConduct system testing to ensure proper performance and compliance with local plumbing codesComplete service calls efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanshipJobsite Leadership & Technical ExecutionRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work ordersMeasure, cut, thread, and assemble pipe systems using hand and power toolsCoordinate materials, equipment, and workflow to keep projects moving on scheduleProvide mentorship and direction to tradesman plumbers and apprentices on-siteMaintain clean, safe, and organized job sitesCompliance & SafetyEnsure all work complies with Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) regulations and local municipal codesFollow OSHA standards and company safety proceduresUse PPE and maintain safe work practices in confined spaces, trenches, and active construction environmentsCustomer & Team InteractionCommunicate professionally with customers, builders, supervisors, and team membersExplain plumbing issues, solutions, and repair recommendations clearlyRepresent the company with strong customer service and integrityComplete documentation for service work, inspections, and job reportsRequired QualificationsValid Texas Journeyman Plumber License in good standingHigh school diploma or GEDValid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving recordAbility to lift 50+ lbs, work in tight spaces, and perform physical laborStrong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and safety standardsAbility to work independently and manage multiple service prioritiesPreferred Qualifications3+ years of residential and/or commercial plumbing experienceExperience with Central Texas plumbing conditions (slab foundations, hard water, sewer laterals)Backflow certification or additional specialty credentials a plusBilingual (English/Spanish) a plusWork EnvironmentIndoor and outdoor job sites in varying weather conditionsResidential homes, commercial properties, and new construction sitesSchedule may include early mornings, overtime, and occasional weekendsCompensation & Benefits - Central TexasTypical Pay Range (Journeyman Plumber):$28 - $36/hour depending on experienceSpecialized or highly experienced Journeymen may earn $31+/hourAnnual Earnings Estimate:$54,000 - $78,000/yearSenior-level or specialty plumbers: $65,000 - $95,000+Benefits May Include:Health, dental, vision insurancePaid time off and holidaysOvertime opportunities (1.5× pay)Continuing education and licensing supportCareer advancement path toward Master Plumber or Supervisor rolesCareer Path
